Flashing Records is a music label. Its site had to announce releases and dates, so it mixed editorial content with event programming, each with its own template.
The project in detail
The technical interest of the project lies in its structure. It is built on Bedrock, a WordPress layout that treats the core software as one dependency among others: configuration comes from environment variables, core and plugins are installed by Composer, passwords are hashed with bcrypt rather than WordPress's historical algorithm, and the directory served by the web server does not contain the code.
In 2016 this was an uncommon way to treat WordPress, and it is exactly what I still do today with other tools: configuration read from the environment, dependencies declared and locked, and a served root that holds only what must be public.
This page has no screenshot. The repository holds the theme, the configuration and the development database, but neither the WordPress core, which Composer installs, nor the media. Bringing it back up would mean replaying a 2016 dependency install, which would give an approximate version rather than the site as it was.
